Eight MEP candidates in Midlands Northwest set for RTÉ debate on Monday night

Eight of the candidates for the European Parliament in the Midlands Northwest constituency are due to take part in a televised debate on RTÉ One television tomorrow (Monday) evening.

The debate will be shown on the Upfront with Katie Hannon programme and will be RTÉ's first televised debate ahead of the European elections on June 7.

An RTÉ spokesperson issued a list of the eight MEP candidates who would be joining Katie Hannon in studio.

In alphabetical order, they are: Peter Casey (Independent), Barry Cowen (Fianna Fáil), Luke 'Ming' Flanagan (Independent), Saoirse McHugh (Independent), Chris McManus (Sinn Fein), Pauline O'Reilly (Green Party), Peadar Toíbín (Aontú) and Maria Walsh (Fine Gael).

The debate will get underway at 10.35pm on RTÉ One on Monday.
