Seomra Spraoi comedy club to return to Athlone
The Midland Madness comedy night will return to Athlone this weekend, promising a night filled with laughter, love, and banter.
Midland Madness boasts two successful shows last year that went down favourably with audiences, so much so that The Brazen Monkey wanted more comedy shows there. Several performers have performed there since with much acclaim. It has since become the most popular venue in town for comedy.
The latest show will take place in the Brazen Monkey pub this Friday, May 17 at 8.30pm. Complementary snacks will also be provided.
The night will be hosted by MC Justin Cass, a Monaghan native who has flourished on the comedy scene over the past few years, most recently as a finalist in the Show Me The Funny competition in Galway. Athlone man Alex George will open the first half followed by Galina Orlova, a prominent Dublin comic who became a model and stand-up comedian at the age of 43.
Three rising comics from Limerick, Sean Ryan, Ken Lindsay and Robbie O’Donnell will also be performing on the night. Another comic new to the scene Amy Cassidy will be making an appearance and the night will be closed by social media sensation Anthony O’Reilly Jr. Organiser Cillian Mac Gabhann will also make a guest appearance.
This summer, the comedy club Seomra Spraoi will be going on the road to various towns with different performers, many of which welcomed the club last year.
Tickets for the Midland Madness comedy show cost €10 and are available on Eventbrite.
