Moate students are World Junk Kouture champions
Sensational news emerging from Monaco tonight as a team of students from Moate Community School have been crowned Junk Kouture world champions!
#TagMe by Eva Donlon from Tubber, Ballymore's Méabh O'Shea and Evie Nugent from Mount Temple was chosen at the Junk Kouture Global Final tonight as the overall winners.
The Moate creation, supported by teacher Pamela Keogh, was chosen as the overall World Designer of the Year at Salle des Princes in Monaco’s Grimaldi Forum where sixty finalists from around the globe competed, representing Dublin, Paris, London, New York, Abu Dhabi and Milan.
The winning design was inspired by famed designer Missoni and made from plastic colour testers from Delta Q, a plastics manufacturer in Athlone.
