Athlone Town happy with Future Ticketing partnership as new season looms

Athlone Town supporters are embracing the benefits of digital tickets with Future Ticketing as the new season kicks off tonight (Friday).

The Friday night visit of Wexford to Athlone (kick-off 7.45pm) is the League of Ireland First Division season opener for Athlone Town, who are expecting an increase in crowds for the 2024 campaign.

Future Ticketing is a Tullamore-based company and is a global provider of cloud ticketing and sales enabling software. The company's digital solutions have been adopted across multiple leisure sectors including horse racing, rugby, cricket and other sports, plus major outdoor shows, tourist attractions and the live entertainment market.

Athlone Town AFC secretary David Dully said he was delighted with how the ticketing system is operating.

"It is something we needed to do over the last couple of years and now with Future Ticketing, the uptake has been absolutely brilliant. It's the convenience of it for supporters, that has been the key to its success," said David.

With the Digital Ticketing app, Athlone fans have instant access to tickets on their own phones. Tickets are securely stored in each supporter's own private account, and can then be accessed on their phone in the app.

Once the app is installed on the phone's home screen, the tickets are available virtually instantly and the fan is also just a couple of clicks away from their full order history, personal profile and much more.

Future Ticketing also has a ticketing sharing option. A fan can send a ticket to another email address and the recipient then receives a link to set up their own account, through which the ticket is accessed.

Future Ticketing client relationship manager Greg Walker said: "Athlone Town is just one of many Future Ticketing partners in the League of Ireland and they have all seen the benefits of moving to digital ticketing.

"For clubs, it provides up to the minute information on advance sales, allows swifter access to revenue, is more efficient for stewards, allows contactless entry and is environmentally friendly, vastly reducing paper and plastic waste. For supporters, the app puts ticket purchasing in the palm of the hand and strengthens the bond with their favourite team."
