Shaw appointed manager of Raharney

The former captain of Raharney and Westmeath John Shaw has been appointed manager of his home club.

A Raharney stalwart, Shaw won six senior county titles with the club over a distinguished playing career that also included captaining Westmeath to success in the Christy Ring Cup in 2005.

In a post on social media, Raharney Hurling Club said:

"Raharney Hurling Club committee would like to announce the appointment of,

"John Shaw as the Raharney Senior Hurling Manager for 2024.

John has represented our club at underage levels all the way up to senior level. He proudly captained our senior club team and Westmeath senior hurling teams to county and all Ireland success throughout his highly decorated playing career.

"Raharney Hurling Club wishes John, his backroom management team and the senior panel of players the very best for the year ahead."
