Bower in All-Ireland volleyball final tomorrow
Our Lady's Bower U16 girls volleyball team are preparing for an All-Ireland final tomorrow, Tuesday.
The girls reached he All-Ireland Junior Girls C final after a great semi-final win against a very strong side from Presentation College Athenry on Thursday, January 18.
The team, captained by Hannah Murray, put on a stellar performance in a thrilling three-set game. Despite Athenry taking the first set, some powerful serves from Paula Munoz and Hannah Murray, accentuated by beautiful setting from Tanya Stephane, ensured that the Bower took home the second set. It was all to play for in the third set, with both teams battling hard to win their place in the All-Ireland final. The Bower girls held their nerve under the pressure and managed to take home the final set 15-11, resulting in a 2-1 victory for the Bower side.
The girls will take on Assumption Secondary School, Dublin in the All-Ireland final tomorrow at 1.30pm in the NUIG Kingfisher Sports Centre, Galway City.
