Monksland's Chloe to remain at Athlone Town for season ahead

Local woman Chloe Singleton, who won the FAI Cup with Athlone Town last season, will be staying with the club for the season ahead.

The 23-year-old from Monksland is one of twelve players who have so far been confirmed as part of manager Ciaran Kilduff's 2024 Athlone Town women's squad. Chloe joined Athlone ahead of the 2023 season, after previously playing for Galway.

TUS lecturer Laurie Ryan, Drum native Kayleigh Shine, and American Madison Gibson, who impressed during her last two seasons with Athlone, are also among the players confirmed at the club for the coming year.

One of those who will not be remaining at Lissywollen is Muireann Devaney. The 20-year-old from Leitrim spent three seasons with Athlone but has now signed for Sligo Rovers, who are being managed by ex-Athlone Town boss Tommy Hewitt.

The Athlone Town women's side kick-off their league campaign at home to Galway United on Saturday, March 9.

The players so far announced by Athlone Town for the coming season are: Shauna Brennan, Kerryanne Brown, Madison Gibson, Katie Keane, Roisin Molloy, Laurie Ryan, Kayleigh Shine, Jenaya Robertson, Jesi Rossman, Kate Slevin, Mary Philips and Chloe Singleton.
