Local boutique to close

Another high profile local business is closing its doors.

La Carm boutique in Moate is set to cease trading today (Wednesday).

In a social media post earlier today, the fashion retailer announced it was her last day in Moate with all stock reduced to clear.

A closing down sale has been ongoing in the shop at Main Street for some time.

The Moate closure comes on foot of several others in the Athlone area in the hospitality sector in recent weeks and months.

To the shock and disappointment of many, the popular Corner House Bistro closed for the final time on Saturday last.

The premises previously occupied by Sambrosa, a Mexican restaurant in Irishtown Central approaching Goldenisland, and The Stairwell, a gastropub in Mardyke Street, are both now available to let on daft.ie website following their closures in recent times.
