Midlands had highest IDA jobs growth during 2023

The Midlands recorded the highest growth rate in jobs in IDA supported companies during 2023.

Nationally, there was a slight decrease in employment in IDA client companies, which was down by 0.3%. However, the Midlands saw the strongest level of growth, up 5.8%. There was growth in the Border (up 2.7%) and Midwest (up 2.6%) with the Southwest and Southeast regions up by 1.2% and 1.4% respectively. Elsewhere, the West was down by 1.8% whilst Dublin and the Mid East declined by 1.2% and 4.8% respectively.

IDA Ireland has over 1,800 client companies employing 300,583 in 2023, accounting for 11.3% of national employment.

There were 132 investments secured across regional locations during 2023, representing 54% of the overall figure. The total number of regional jobs now stands at 163,471.
