Munster have banned a supporter from attending home games following an incident during Saturday’s Investec Champions Cup game against Bayonne at Thomond Park.
Video footage showed the supporter grabbing a Bayonne player’s shirt during a skirmish between rival players that spilled over the touchline.
“Munster Rugby can confirm that a decision has been made to prohibit the supporter involved in an incident at Thomond Park on Saturday from attending Munster Rugby home games,” the Irish province said in a statement.
“An investigation commenced on Sunday, with the supporter getting in contact with the province this morning to identify himself and apologise for his actions.
“Munster Rugby will be contacting Aviron Bayonnais and EPCR (European Professional Club Rugby) to apologise for the incident.”
