Roscommon GAA stars recall 'game of their life' in new book

Twenty-five well known Roscommon footballers from past and present recall the 'game of their life' in a new book by local journalist Dan Dooner which will be launched later this week.

The launch of Roscommon Game of My Life, published by Hero Books, is taking place in The Railway Bar, Roscommon, at 8pm this Friday (December 8).

The players featured in the book include a number of prominent footballers in the south of the county, including Donie Shine Jr, Frankie Dolan and Senan Kilbride.

Tony McManus of Clann na nGael, and Francie Grehan of the St Aidan's club in Ballyforan, who was the last Roscommon player to win an All-Star before Enda Smith this year, are also included.

The book's author, Dan Dooner, is a Dublin native based in Roscommon. He previously worked for the Roscommon People and is now working with Shannonside Northern Sound FM.

This is his second book. His first, Outside of the Right, an autobiography of Frankie Dolan, was published in 2021.
