Ferbane playground reopened following upgrades

The Ferbane playground is now officially open following recent upgrades. Ferbane Tidy Towns & the Playground Committee have announced that have been lobbying for the last few years for much needed upgrades, as unfortunately what was once a fine playground, had fallen into disrepair.

Ferbane TidyTowns also contributed grant funding of €6,000 towards the newly completed works on the playground. A great group of students from the Climate and Social Action Committee in Gallen Community School are also to thank for raising the poor state of the playground with their local councillors and Offaly County Council in their Playground Campaign.

The committee like to congratulate Offaly County Council for doing such a great job on the playground and to the Ferbane Belmont CE Scheme for their continued upkeep of the playground. Christmas has come early in Ferbane with an essential amenity for the young people restored.

Ferbane Tidy Towns are holding a Christmas Lights Ceremony on Sunday, December 3 at 5pm. The group is seeking donations towards the upkeep, repair and running costs of the Lights via their GoFundMe page. To doante to the cuase search for 'Raise Funds for Ferbane Christmas Lights' on GoFundMe.
