Connact star Jack Carty.

Explore the science of rugby with Jack Carty

If you like a good game of rugby, have you ever stopped to consider all of the science it involves? Everything from the science of fitness to the physics of the game provides a great chance to learn more about science and rugby.

A Midlands Science event on Tuesday, November 7 at 7.30pm in the Bounty will be facilitated by leading science communicator Dr Craig Slattery of UCD, who will be in conversation with Connacht flyhalf Jack Carty, fresh from his province's thrilling 22-20 win over Ulster at the weekend, and former Irish international Rosie Foley.

The 'Science Scrum' event is taking place at the home of rugby in Athlone – Buccaneers RFC and you’ll also enjoy some tasty finger food at the event from the Bounty Bar.

You’ll never look at a game of rugby in the same way again! This is a free event, but booking is needed on https://www.midlandsscience.ie/events-calendar/
