New ACR radio programme promoting inclusivity

Athlone Access Awareness (AAA) and Independent People with Disabilities (IPD) are proud to announce the launch of a groundbreaking radio programme aimed at fostering inclusivity and promoting the rights and perspectives of individuals with disabilities.

This new monthly radio programme on Athlone Community Radio entitled 'Inclusive Voices' will provide a platform for open dialogue, education, and empowerment for people of all abilities.

In recent years, there has been a growing recognition of the importance of creating inclusive spaces and promoting disability awareness. 'Inclusive Voices' is an exciting addition to the media landscape, and it is set to make a significant impact by highlighting the experiences, challenges, and achievements of individuals with disabilities.

The radio programme will feature a diverse range of content, including interviews with individuals with disabilities, advocates, experts, and community leaders. These discussions will cover a wide spectrum of topics, from accessibility and technology to policy advocacy and cultural inclusion.

'Inclusive Voices' is committed to ensuring that its programming is accessible to all. AAA and IPD recognize the importance of using respectful and inclusive language when discussing disability-related issues. The programme will adhere to appropriate terminology and guidelines, promoting a more inclusive and respectful discourse.

The radio programme, set to air for the first time on Thursday, October 26 at 11am will actively engage with its audience, encouraging feedback and participation from individuals and organisations working toward a more inclusive society.

The first episode of 'Inclusive Voices' is set to air on Thursday, October 26 at 11am on Athlone Community Radio 88.4fm, online athlonecommunityradio.ie and the tunein app.

Tune in to hear inspiring stories, insightful discussions, and actionable steps towards a more inclusive world. The programmes will also be podcast on the Athlone Access Awareness facebook page 'Athlone Access Awareness'.

Inclusive Voices is part of Athlone Community Radio's Community Takeover project which is funded by Coimisiún na Meán with the Television Licence Fee.
