Touching tribute by Raharney stars
Heroes in victory, but more importantly men of stature and character in their thoughts and actions afterwards, the successful Raharney senior hurling side took time out to visit the grave of a former colleague on Sunday evening.
Only a short time after their dramatic victory over Lough Lene Gaels, Raharney visited the grave of the late Colm Murray in Coralstown cemetery. Colm, a former Raharney hurler and Coralstown/Kinnegad footballer, tragically lost his life earlier this year in a road traffic accident.
In his acceptance speech, Raharney captain Robbie Greville paid a moving tribute to Colm, recalling how he was very much part of the group before his untimely passing.
The new Westmeath champions will face the Dublin champions in the Leinster club SHC on November 11/12 at TEG Cusack Park.
