Clonfert to host first in series of Divine Mercy events tomorrow
A special event to promote devotion to the Divine Mercy will take place in Clonfert tomorrow.
The event is being organised by Veritas, Ireland’s leading religious publisher and retailer.
Fr Chris Alar, MIC, renowned author and promoter of the Divine Mercy message, will visit Clonfert as part of a tour of Ireland and share his knowledge and devotion of Divine Mercy in a series of talks and celebrations.
All of the events are free and open to everyone. They will take place in Clonfert, Knock Shrine, Derry, Letterkenny, Dublin, Waterford and London. Accompanying Fr Chris Alar will be special guest James Kilbane, singer-songwriter.
Fr Chris Alar is the author of Understanding Divine Mercy and After Suicide: There’s Hope For Them and For You. He is Provincial Superior of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of Mercy Province of the Congregation of Marian Fathers of the Immaculate Conception in the United States and Argentina. He wrote and produced the popular ‘Divine Mercy 101’ and ‘Explaining the Faith’ DVD series and is host of the weekly EWTN show Living Divine Mercy. He serves as ‘Fr Joseph, MIC’, the Director of the Association of Marian Helpers, and is the head of Marian Press, located on the grounds of the National Shrine of The Divine Mercy in Stockbridge, Massachusetts. His religious community has been entrusted to spread the message of Divine Mercy around the world.
The Clonfert event takes place on Thursday, starting at 2pm, with a talk entitled Woke-ism in Today’s Society, at the Main Hall, Emmanuel House of Providence, Clonfert, Ballinasloe, Co. Galway, H53 E5N6.
It will be followed at 2.45pm by Mass in the Main Hall of the Retreat Centre House and at 3.45pm by a talk 'After Suicide: There’s Hope For You and For Me: Bereavement, Suffering, Hope and Divine Mercy'. Fr Chris Alar will be signing copies of his book at 4.30pm.
