Craic and Ceol in Athlone for Culture Night

Culture Night saw the best of cultural events take place across the country on Friday, September 22 and the local Pop up Gaeltacht hosted an evening of music and dance that everybody was able to get involved in. The event was held in St Kierans Community Centre.

Tom Shine led the attendees off with some set dancing that saw those who’d never even heard of the Siege of Ennis have a mastery of it by the end of the night. Local trad group, Na Badoiri also provided some wonderful sounds, and the ‘Cupla focal’ was also encouraged on the night.

The event was attended by a wide mix of people from all walks of life and brought together a wonderful evening of fun and laughter.
