Call for warning signage to be erected at Ballykeeran

Cllr John Dolan has called on Westmeath County Council to erect flashing signage on the N55 at Ballykeeran.

The Fine Gael councillor explained that there have been a number of crashes there recently and that he was informed that there was previously signage there. “Even a little measure that could be reinstated might just help.”

Cllr Dolan was alerted to the concern by a local man who rang him and highlighted the issue there following a recent crash.

He said: “If we could get it (signage) reinstated there would be a warning that it is dangerous.”
