Mainly dry day with sunny spells ahead

Weather update from Met Éireann

Any lingering rain in the southeast will clear this morning then it will be mainly dry for most areas with sunny spells, scattered showers will affect the north and northwest. Highest temperatures of 15 to 19 degrees, warmest in the south and southeast with a mostly moderate northwest breeze.

Mainly dry with long clear spells tonight with isolated showers in the north. Lowest temperatures of 7 to 10 degrees generally, lower in parts of Munster, in mostly light westerly breezes.

Sunny spells and well scattered showers to start tomorrow (Wednesday). Cloud will build from the southwest with outbreaks of rain and drizzle in the afternoon, slowly extending over much of the southwestern half of the country through the evening. Highest temperatures of 15 to 18 degrees in mostly light west or variable breezes.

Rain will become widespread on Wednesday night, with heavy falls at times over the southern half of the country. Lowest temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees generally, in light to moderate southeasterly breezes.

Largely cloudy and wet to start on Thursday. Rain will clear northeastwards with sunny spells and showers following, some heavy. Duller conditions and outbreaks of rain may linger across the north and northeast into the evening. Highest temperatures of 16 to 20 degrees in light to moderate southerly winds, becoming variable later.

Thursday night will be mainly dry for most places, showers will continue in the north. Lowest temperatures 9 to 12 degrees with light variable breezes.

Sunny spells and scattered showers on Friday. Highest temperatures of 17 to 20 degrees with light variable breezes.

Saturday currently looks like being mainly dry with some good sunshine allowing temperatures to reach 21 degrees with light variable breezes and current indications suggest the mainly fair weather will last through Sunday too.
