Westmeath included in Met Éireann Yellow warning for rainfall
Westmeath is among the counties included in a Met Éireann Yellow waring for rainfall this afternoon and evening.
Their message is: Heavy rain with thundery downpours on Friday and Friday night. Strong winds at times along coasts.
Met Éireann there is a possibility of spot flooding, difficult travelling conditions, and wave overtopping on coasts.
The affected regions, as well as Westmeath are: Cavan, Donegal, Dublin, Kildare, Leitrim, Laois, Longford, Louth, Mayo, Meath, Monaghan, Offaly, Roscommon and Sligo.
Met Éireann issued the advice just before 2pm today and say that the storm was expected from 3pm.
The warning expires tomorrow, Saturday August 19, at 6am.
