Met Eireann extends local yellow weather warning

Met Eireann has extended the duration of a yellow warning for this region which it originally issued in recent days.

The national forecaster is now warning heavy rain with thundery downpours on Friday and Friday night, with strong winds at times along coasts.

Potential impacts include spot flooding, and difficult travelling conditions.

The affected regions include Westmeath and Roscommon, as well as Cavan, Donegal, Dublin, Kildare, Leitrim, Longford, Louth, Mayo, Meath, Monaghan and Sligo.

The warning comes into effect at 3pm today and expires at 6am in the morning. It was previously issued for 4pm to midnight.
