Local parish priest to celebrate 30th anniversary of his ordination

A mass of thanksgiving for Ballinahown-based Fr Brendan O'Sullivan, who is parish priest for large Leamonaghan parish, which straddles parts of Westmeath and West Offaly, on the occasion of his 30th anniversary of his ordination will take place this Friday evening at 7.30pm in Ballinahown Church.

Fr Brendan was ordained by Bishop Dominic Conway of Elphin Diocese in St Mel’s Cathedral on June 27, 1993.

"Everyone is welcome to this community event to show our support and appreciation for Fr Brendan.

"May you be blessed for your service to the Church and may you continue your priestly ministry for many years to come," a post on the Doon GAA Facebook page said in relation to the event this Friday, June 23.

Refreshments will be served afterwards in the local hall.

The mass of thanksgiving will be livestreamed on the St.Colmcille's, St.Manchan's & St. Ciarán's YouTube link below.
