Finance Minister to address Athlone business breakfast event
The Minister for Finance, Michael McGrath, will be in Athlone next week to address a 'pre-budget breakfast' event.
Athlone Chamber of Commerce is organising the event, in conjunction with sponsors RBK and TUS. It's taking place at the Athlone Springs Hotel on Wednesday next, June 28, from 7.30am to 9am, with breakfast being served from 7.30 to 8am.
The discussion will be moderated by the Business Editor of The Business Post, Moate native Lorcan Allen. In addition to Minister McGrath, the speakers will include economist John Finn, Chamber President Alan Shaw, Alison Sheridan of TUS, John Finn of Treasury Solutions and Jackie Masterson of RBK.
This event is designed to provide an opportunity for attendees to gain valuable insights into the Government's plans for Budget 2024, and to engage in meaningful discussions on key financial matters.
The expertise of the speakers will provide insight into various aspects of the business environment, allowing for a rounded discussion on the challenges and opportunities facing local enterprises.
The format will comprise a panel discussion, ahead of the publication of the Summer Economic Statement, and this will be followed by a question-and-answer session giving attendees a platform to address their concerns directly to the speakers.
The pre-budget business breakfast will be open to both in-person and online attendees, but due to limited seating capacity and high interest, registration is essential to secure a spot at the event.
Athlone Chamber of Commerce is urging all interested parties to register promptly to guarantee participation, either in person or virtually.
"The pre-budget business breakfast is set to be an exceptional event, bringing together influential business leaders and policymakers to shape the future of our region’s economy," said Tommy Hogan, CEO of Athlone Chamber of Commerce.
"We are honoured to host Minister for Finance Michael McGrath and a distinguished panel of speakers who will shed light and influence the Government's plans and provide crucial perspectives on important financial matters."
