Féile Na Sionainne quiz fundraiser a great success

The crew behind the Féile Na Sionainne, a new festival for Athlone this summer, held ran a hugely successful quiz last Thursday to kickstart the fundraising for their Fleadh aspirations for the beginning of August.

The quiz is the first of several events that will be taking place in the run up to those all-important dates in August.

The committee would like to acknowledge the tremendous support they have received thus far, especially the local businesses who have been instrumental in helping get everything off the ground, and to all who have been lending their time and assistance to making Féile na Sionainne a reality for the town.

It’s been some 70 years since the last Fleadh in Athlone and if they enthusiasm from the quiz is mirrored, the town will be in for a great three days later in the summer. The group have social media pages on Facebook and Instagram so you can follow their progress and keep up to date with all-things Fleadh related.

The next event will be in Athlone Little Theatre on May 31 at 8pm which will host an evening of acoustic Irish traditional music. Tickets available in Sabrosa Restaurant or alternatively, send a message to one of their social media platforms and they will respond promptly.
