Exciting schedule of events at Birr theatre
Birr Theatre and Arts Centre has released a busy schedule of upcoming events.
There is an array of captivating performances scheduled over the next few months, from heartwarming dramas to hilarious comedies.
One of the highlights of the upcoming season is "Country & Irish" with Peter Gowen. Gowen's magnetic performance promises to captivate audiences with his powerful storytelling. This intimate and mesmerising show that draws an hilarious but savage portrait of a man at the end of his rope is not to be missed.
Another must-see play is "From The Shoulders Down" written and performed Richard Lynch. This cleverly scripted play delves into the complexities of a life lived from school benches to dance halls, to building sites.
In June, Irish Times Theatre Awards winner, "Mojo Mickybo" comes to Birr. This critically acclaimed play is a true gem, showcasing the creativity of Belfast’s most treasured, living playwright and the raw talent of its performers. Its unique blend of humour and poignancy will leave audiences spellbound over the fate of the two young boys whose friendship is the subject of the play.
There is also an amazing double bill from the multi-award-winning Acting -Out drama group and acclaimed playwright Sean Denyer. These two plays ("Getting Over Hugh" and "The Death of Me") promise to deliver a rollercoaster of emotions, from side-splitting laughter to heart-wrenching moments, making for a truly unforgettable experience.
