Athlone Chamber of Commerce appoints new CEO
Athlone Chamber of Commerce has announced that Tommy Hogan has been appointed as its new CEO. An experienced business person, Tommy comes with vast experience from the food and agri sector.
Tommy worked as Managing Director of Clara Fields for 13 years. He has extensive experience in customer service, sales, business planning and financial management.
Tommy said: “I’m honoured and very excited to have been selected for this role. I look forward to the many challenges and experiences that will come with the position. I believe Athlone Chamber is in a pivotal position to help local businesses based here and help them to grow and develop through an array of ever-expanding services that we provide. I look forward to working with and supporting the board in the coming years and building relationships with the array of stakeholders with whom the Chamber engages in our day-to-day business”.
Alan Shaw, President of Athlone Chamber of Commerce, commented: “We are delighted to have Tommy on board with us, he will be a great addition to the ever-expanding team at the Chamber office. His experience will be of great benefit to us and our members. We wish him every success in the role.”
The Chamber President also paid tribute to the outgoing CEO Gerry McInerney, who filled the role for the past three years. “It has been a challenging time for businesses over recent years, through Covid and international crises, however our services were managed ably by Gerry and the Chamber team. The board is very grateful for Gerry’s contribution over that time. We wish him well for the future,” he said.
