Local town has most web searches for Sinn Féin

Web users in Ballinasloe, Co. Galway have searched for Sinn Féin more than anywhere else in the country.

That's according to research by marketing agency, Digital Funnel, based on examination of Google search data from the past two years

Ballinasloe is leading the way when it comes to search interest in Sinn Fein, followed by Croagh, Co. Limerick, Cavan Town, Wexford Town and Edenderry, Co. Offaly.

Sinn Fein are the most searched for political party in the country, followed by Fine Gael, with Fianna Fail coming last out of the big three political parties.

Users in Tribley, Co. Meath have searched for Fine Gael more than anywhere else in the country.

Users in Cavan Town have searched for Fianna Fail more than anywhere else in the country.

Online searches for Bertie Ahern have spiked in the recent days, increasing 1900%

Searches for the Mahon Tribunal have also spiked over the same period, increasing 2375%

Searches for Sinn Fein Russia have also exploded in recent weeks, jumping 3233.33% between December 11 to February 11.
