Local artists supporting the Irish Pilgrimage Trust

A feature of the Winter Wonders art exhibition currently running in the beautiful surroundings of Savoury Fare at Fernhill Garden Centre, is the charity fundraising effort by the artists. Proceeds from the sale of the designated works of art by four exhibiting artists and by Ursula Ledwith, will be donated directly to the Irish Pilgrimage Trust.

Artist Dee McKiernan says that whilst all paintings on display are for sale, the artists were keen to find a way to support a worthwhile cause through their art. Once the charity was selected, each artist very kindly donated one painting and these can all be seen grouped together in the exhibition.

Artist Tina Elliffe explained that the Trust is a volunteer led, registered charity which takes children and young people with additional needs, on pilgrimage holidays to Lourdes and on holiday in Ireland. Tina says “These holidays make a huge difference to the lives of the children, their families and indeed to the volunteers involved. Given the high costs involved in providing these opportunities, the charity would be most grateful for support.”

By purchasing one of the designated charity paintings, buyers can enjoy the beauty of an original work of art whilst also knowing that they have made a difference to the Irish Pilgrimage Trust.

There has already been great interest in the art created by Jackie Eastwood, Tina Elliffe, Rosemarie Langtry and Dee McKiernan and several paintings have already sold. However there is still time to pop along and view the work before the exhibition ends later in January. Artists Jackie, Tina, Rosemarie and Dee are grateful to all the visitors and to the management and staff of Savoury Fare and Fernhill Garden Centre for their ongoing support for the arts. If you would like to meet the artists, some of the exhibiting group will be available to chat and answer any questions you may have on Saturday, January 28, from 3pm to 4pm.
