Telsa car up for grabs in Pádraig Pearses draw

Pádraig Pearses GAA are building up to their fundraising draw in which people have the chance to win a Telsa Model 3 fully electric car.

There has been a huge effort from many club volunteers to promote the draw and the club is delighted at how the fundraising campaign has gone so far. Pádraig Pearses chairman Mike Feehily said: "The club are delighted with the support we have been receiving both online and offline. It has been a tremendous effort and there is still time to get your ticket and win a 2023 Tesla 3."

The fundraising initiative aims to support the continued growth of Pádraig Pearses GAA as a sporting and community based organisation across all codes. A key goal is to raise funds to purchase additional land and extend the existing facilities at the club grounds.

Tickets can be bought online (www.winatesla.ie) and also will be available for sale in the Padraig Pearses bar at the club's Woodmount base.

The draw takes place on Tuesday, January 10 and the club is urging people to get their tickets as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

Pádraig Pearses GAA Club was founded in 1962 as an amalgamation of two junior football clubs, Moore and Taughmaconnell, with the club celebrating 60 years in existence in 2022.

Explaining the reason for embarking on this fundraiser, Padraig Pearses said it is "in the process of purchasing land adjacent to the club", adding that this "will be much needed based on the number of teams we have and the growth in our club membership".

Pádraig Pearses now has over 900 club members from the parishes of Moore, Taughmaconnell and Creagh and a total of 34 teams from underage hurling/camogie and football, right up to senior. The club nursery alone has grown by 60% since it was launched in 2016.

The club facilities have undergone some significant developments in recent years, with new floodlights installed on the main pitch and the second pitch, drainage work carried out on both pitches and upgrading of all the nets behind all goals.

"Our walking track has been a huge asset to our club members with social membership growing by over 300% since the upgrade of the track," said the club, who also pointed to the upgrading of the club bar and function room, with many activities taking place indoors, such as line dancing, yoga, pilates, the Irish language group, squash, cards, pool and dart competitions.
