Athlone Little Theatre extends run with extra night
Due to popular demand, an extra night has added to the 'The Two Loves of Gabriel Foley' run in Athlone Little Theatre.
Booking for Thursday, December 1, the ninth night, is now open on www.athlonelittletheatre.ie and Eventbrite. Tickets are already limited so don't miss out!
The riotous comedy has been enjoying standing ovations and full houses since the run began on Wednesday last.
On Saturday, the theatre was honoured to welcome the playwright, Jimmy Keary, to the performance. Afterwards he addressed the crowd and met with the cast and crew of the production.
Meanwhile, a reading for 'Philadelphia Here I Come' by Brian Friel will take place in Athlone Little Theatre on Tuesday and Wednesday, December 6 and 7th next at 7.30pm.
The play is set in the village of Ballybeg, Co Donegal, the night before and the morning, Gar's departure for Philadelphia. Gar is the son of S.B. O'Donnell and the action takes place in the O'Donnell kitchen and Gar's bedroom. Various flashback episodes take place which involve cameo parts.
The cast consists of three female and ten male actors. Full details about the play can be found at https://en.m.wikepedia.org/wiki/Philadelphia_Here_I Come.
The play will be directed by Billy Nott and it is hoped to present it in March of 2023. So come along and give it a go!
