Athlone youth named in Ireland U15 squad for Poland games
A local youngster has been named in Ireland's Under 15 squad for a friendly double-header against Poland in Poland this week.
Daniel Costello, a former St Joseph's FC player, who now lines out for St Patrick's Athletic in the Under 15 SSE Airtricity League was included in the squad named by Republic of Ireland Men’s Under-15s Head Coach Jason Donohue.
The young Boys in Green play tomorrow, Tuesday, and Friday with both games kicking off at 11am Irish time.
There are first Ireland call-ups for Manchester United’s Jay McEvoy, Shamrock Rovers’ Goodness Ogbonna, Finn Harps’ Alex Cullen and Derry City pair Oli Devlin and Glenn McCourt. Donohue has named 17 players from the EA Sports National League in the group.
Costello made his debut for Ireland against Croatia last month.
He is the son of Suzanne and John.
