An Offaly teenager scored a goal that was memorable for more reasons than one to seal the Mark Farren Cup for the Athlone Town Under-17s last weekend.

Deep into injury time, Kevin Sweeney, who played his schoolboy football for Killeigh, swung in a corner kick that evaded everyone and looped into the net.

It was the only goal of the game in the cup final between Athlone and Cork City in Lissywollen.
