Athlone Library to host exciting performance by local musicians this evening

Athlone Library will hold a free musical performance by local musicians Niall Mannion and Andrew Yau this evening (Thursday) at 6.30pm.

They will be performing musical scores from a wide range of movies.

The Moate native provides group string programmes in various schools as part of Music Generation and he is currently a violin tutor with Athlone Youth Orchestra and MGOW Sinfonia.

Andrew Yau is a local multi-instrumentalist and singer. He studied piano from the age of twelve before taking up the flute, clarinet and cello. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Music from Maynooth University and specialised in composition and piano performance.

Andre has played with many singers and appeared in the National Concert Hall, on RTÉ and in many concerts as both a solo artist and supporting artist.

The Local Live Performance Programming Scheme is funded by the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media.
