Gavin goes out on loan from Charlton

Athlone teenager Dylan Gavin has joined National League South side Tonbridge Angels on loan until January from Charlton Athletic.

Gavin (19) scored on his debut for the London side in their 4-1 home defeat to Hampton & Richmond last Saturday.

Tonbridge Angels play in the National League South, the sixth tier of English football, with a north and south division underneath the National League, which itself is the promotion ground to the English Football League and League 2 of the Championship.

Gavin featured in the National League South last season with Billericay Town scoring six goals in 16 league appearances and helped them win the 2022 Essex Senior Cup, scoring an outrageous 35-yard volley to win the final 1-0.

The Republic of Ireland youth international made his first team debut for Charlton a 3-1 victory over Leyton Orient in the Papa’s John Trophy in November 2020 and signed his first professional contract with the club in July 2021.
