Luan Gallery announces upcoming talk with artist behind current exhibition

Athlone's Luan Gallery has announced it will be hosting a public talk with Derick Smith, the artist behind its current exhibition, The Soul of Matter, on Saturday, April 30.

Derick will be in taking part in the conversation with Luan Gallery curator Valeria Ceregini at 2pm that Saturday.

The gallery said it will be "an informal conversation and tour of Derick's exhibition, The Soul of Matter, comprised of paintings, sculpture and works on paper.

"It will give audiences an insight into his visual practice, use of materials, inspirations and process of making work. There will be also be an opportunity for audience participation," said the gallery.

The Soul of Matter is Derick Smith's exclusive series of mixed media works, and it will be on display until June 19.
