Westmeath's Allianz NFL Division 3 clash with Longford, which was due to take place in TEG Cusack Park this evening, has been postponed

Mná na hIarmhí keep show on the road as weather impacts fixtures

The weekend's two marquee women's matches are going ahead today despite a host of sports fixtures being called off due to torrential rain and gale-force winds.

Raharney's AIB All-Ireland club junior 'A' camogie semi-final against Kerry's Clanmaurice looks set to go ahead at St Rynagh's in Banagher, while Westmeath's Lidl Ladies' NFL Division 1A clash with Donegal will be played on the 3G surface at St Loman's Lakepoint Park (both 2pm).

These fixtures are exceptions, with a host of matches across all sporting codes called off over the weekend.

The Allianz NFL Division 3 match-up between Westmeath and Longford, due to take place in TEG Cusack Park this afternoon has been postponed, as has the U20 footballers' meeting with Monaghan in the Philly McGuinness Cup, which was fixed for Kinnegad, has gone by the wayside.

While some club fixtures went ahead on Friday night - St Loman's edging Garrycastle 0-7 to 0-6 in their ACFL Division 1 fixture - all other All-County Football League games this weekend were postponed.

Soccer has also been adversely impacted, with Mullingar Town's top-of-the-table CCFL Senior Division battle with Monksland United, which was fixed for D'Alton Park this morning, called off.

In rugby however, Mullingar's Leinster League Division 1B outing at Ashtown Lane versus Wicklow went ahead.
