This piece, 'A Lone Swan Wanders up Castle Street' by Kilbeggan's Olivia Finn is one of the pieces on display at the Luan Gallery Art Fair.

Last chance to view local art fair at Luan Gallery

The second Winter Art Fair in Athlone's Luan Gallery is currently on display - but time is running out if you wish to call in and view it in person.

The art fair ends this weekend and Sunday, January 30, will be its final day on display. The gallery is encouraging the public not to miss the opportunity "to view and buy local art".

Early December is when the art fair began, and it consists of over 140 works to suit all tastes and budgets, including painting, print, photography, encaustic, textile, mixed-media, ceramics and fine art jewellery.

The pieces were created by 82 artists with connections to Westmeath and the Midlands, and the initiative was supported by Creative Ireland and Westmeath County Council.

Images of each of the pieces can be viewed on the Art Fair's website, where people can also express an interest in a piece or reserve it online.

Luan Gallery is open to the public Tuesday to Saturday from 11am to 5pm, and Sundays from 12 to 5pm.
