New cinemas to open in Mullingar and Ballinasloe

The Omniplex Cinema Group has announced cinema openings in Mullingar and Ballinasloe.

The company said it would shortly commence construction on new state-of-the-art cinemas in both towns

The 5-screen cinema templates will each include an Omniplex Maxx auditorium complete with 16-metre-wide screens, luxury rocker seats, double sofa-Beds, Barco LASER projection and Dolby audio technology. Ballinasloe Omniplex and Mullingar Omniplex are scheduled to open Autumn 2022.

Extensive renovations to the four-screen Nenagh Omniplex are scheduled to be completed in time for Christmas 2021.

Total investment in the three projects is over €11m and will create over 100 jobs during construction and 65 full and part time jobs when operational.

In October, Omniplex announced a Christmas 2022 opening for the new nine-screen Omniplex D’Luxx at CastleCourt SC, Belfast as part of a major refit of the Belfast shopping centre, following the closure of Debenhams.
