Roz Purcell says she 'might move to Athlone' following midlands trip
Popular Instagram influencer, model and cookbook author Rozanna Purcell said that she “might move to Athlone” after having “one of the best nights ever” while visiting the Midlands with Discover Ireland last week.
Staying in Glasson Lakehouse during her visit, Roz managed to squeeze in visits to Bay Sports, a picnic at the nearby Yew Point, the Clay Pipe Visitor Centre in Knockcroghery and a pint of Guinness in Sean’s Bar.
With the weather reaching 24 degrees in parts of the Midlands last week, she said that she felt she was “abroad” and started to plan her wedding at Glasson Lakehouse.
Waking up early the next morning, she then travelled to Banagher Park for a swim in an outdoor swimming pool on the Shannon before returning to Athlone for a coffee from Clann Coffee cart which was parked at Cornamaddy National School.
She then shared footage of her going down the slide at Baysports, with a dinner and a hot-tub booking later on at Wineport Lodge.
While on a boat to the lodge, she said she felt like she “was in Venice” and told her followers “you need to get yourself to Athlone.”
The next morning saw Roz get a coffee from Stodgeface in Athlone before going for a tour of Roscommon Castle and a craft session at Celtic Roots Studio in Ballinahown.
Sharing her adventures to over half a million followers on Instagram, she said that this was her favourite trip with Discover Ireland:
“I was blown away. There’s so much adventure, relaxing, great food, hotels and history to discover… not to mention all the swimming spots?!!
“We had an adventure day, a relaxing day, a crafts day and many romantic dates – I hope you guys got some good ideas.
“I can’t wait to go back again. The heartlands stole my heart.”
