The history of Athlone's canal explored in Heritage Week event

To celebrate Heritage Week Athlone Canal Heritage Committee is hosting an event on Friday, August 19, commencing at 7pm.

A presentation on Zoom will be given by local writer and historian Gearoid O'Brien entitled 'Athlone Canal its history and industrial heritage'.

This event is supported by Westmeath County Council.
