Local €6.4m Lottery winner still waiting to receive cheque

The lucky Westmeath winner of a cool €6.4m prize on a National Lottery Quick Pick ticket over two months ago is still waiting to receive their huge cash prize!

A spokesperson for the National Lottery has confirmed to the Westmeath Independent that National Lottery HQ are “just finalising the prize payment process” at the moment and should be in a position to give an update “as soon as it’s paid.”

Due to coronavirus restrictions, the processing of claims by all Lottery prizewinners is now conducted remotely, including the delivery of prizewinning cheques.

“The winners don’t even have to leave their homes, as we make a special delivery to them” said the Lotto spokesperson.

The Quick Pick Lotto ticket was sold on Saturday, May 22 last, at the Applegreen shop in the Arcadia Retail Park.
