Moate pub to host virtual music Hospice fundraiser on March 17

Well-known Moate hostelry, P. Egan's, has recorded a live music session to mark St. Patrick's Day and to raise much-needed funds for the South Westmeath Hospice.

The session, which features a host of musicians, including Paddy and Saoirse Casey, will be available to stream through P. Egan's Facebook page from this Wednesday, St. Patrick's Day, and will also feature a link to an iDonate page www.idonate.ie/peganslive for South Westmeath Hospice so those who tune in can make a donation.

P. Egan's traditional bar, which was established in 1854 and is famed for its music sessions, normally hosts an annual Coffee Morning every September in aid of South Westmeath Hospice, but Covid-19 restrictions put paid to the owners plans to host last year's event.

Therefore, they came up with the idea of getting a group of friends together to record a live music session to mark our national holiday on March 17 and nominated the South Westmeath Hospice as their chosen charity for donations.

Make sure to tune into P. Egan's Facebook page from Wednesday and show your support for South Westmeath Hospice by making a donation at: www.idonate.ie/peganslive
