Reopening details for Athlone Castle, Luan Gallery, Libraries, and Regional Sports Centre

A number of Westmeath County Council-operated facilities are reopening to the public this week, having been closed during the Level 5 lockdown.

Some council facilities did remain open during Level 5, including the civic offices in Athlone, Mullingar and Caslepollard, as well as all outdoor playgrounds, play areas, and parks.

But, with the country now at Level 3, a number of other facilities which had been closed reopened yesterday (Tuesday) and today.

In addition, the public libraries in Athlone, Mullingar, Moate, and Kilbeggan have also reopened for browsing and borrowing, including a Call and Collect service.

Athlone Castle and the Luan Gallery both reopened today (Wednesday).

Meanwhile, Belvedere House Gardens and Park remains open and the café will go back to full service from this Friday, December 4. (The House remains closed for renovations).

Mullingar Swimming Pool also reopened from today, for individual use only and with protective measures in place.
