Drive Through Trick or Treat event set for Ballinahown

Ballinahown Development Committee is holding a ‘Drive Through trick or Treat’ event in the carpark in Ballinahown village on Satuday, October 31st from 6pm to 7pm.

"Lorraine Farrell, who owns the local crèche/playschool Stepping Stones, came up with the idea and has kindly offered to sponsor the goody bags for the event," local councillor John Dolan, who is part of Ballinahown Development Committee said in tribute.

"The committee felt it was a great idea, as children can’t go from door-to-door in the normal way because of the Covid restrictions. The idea is that parents can drive carefully through the carpark and volunteers will give them their goody bags without them leaving the car at a safe distance.

"There will be volunteers directing the traffic in and out of the carpark to allow for the cars to enter and exit in a safe manner. While it won’t be the normal Halloween experience, at least the local children can say that they went Trick or Treating in 2020," concluded Cllr Dolan.
