Walk for Westmeath ladies football: clubs and fans asked for support
Why not do a beautiful looped walk and support Westmeath ladies football. That's the message from Westmeath LGFA as the August bank holiday weekend approaches.
Westmeath LGFA is calling on all Westmeath clubs and supporters to walk or run the distance from Westmeath to Croke Park and back this weekend.
"The funds raised will cover the current costs of running our county teams and allow us to further develop and expand our organisation," said Geraldine Giles, Westmeath LGFA chairperson.
"Westmeath LGFA provides a healthy activity and social outlet to more than 3,000 girls and women across the county.
"We do need funds so we are calling on everyone to get up, get out and bank some miles. We hope that all Westmeath Gaelic clubs and supporters will join us this August bank holiday weekend in running or walking the distance from Westmeath to Croke Park and back in support of Westmeath LGFA."
The entry fee is €10 and all support would be greatly appreciated. More information can be obtained from the following GoFundMe page - https://www.gofundme.com/f/westmeath-to-croke-park - where people can also donate.
