Majority of Athlone Towncentre stores to reopen on Monday

A large majority of the stores in Athlone Towncentre Shopping Centre are to reopen on Monday, the shopping centre has confirmed.

Athlone Towncentre today said that whilst a limited number of stores have remained open during the pandemic, it now looked forward to welcoming back other retail stores, the centre’s fabulous staff and customers.

The centre said: “We are committed to keeping you safe on your next visit to Athlone Towncentre. When you return you’ll notice the new measures introduced to protect our customers and our centre staff.”

These include:

Designated entry and exit points; Hand sanitising stations at each entrance; One way system along the mall; Enhanced cleaning schedule focusing on high traffic areas and customer touch points; Deep cleaning using Electrostatic Spray; Cancellation of all mall activities for the foreseeable future; No kiddy kab service.

At 5pm today, Saturday, it said, it had been advised of the following store reopenings on Monday

O’Briens Irish Sandwich Bar – Thurs 25th June

Pamela Scott – Tues 16th

Regatta Great Outdoors – Tues 16th

River Island – Thurs 18th

All remaining unlisted stores have yet to confirm their exact reopening date, the centre said.
