Stellar line up for Temple Villa FC fundraising concert
A packed line up of celebrity and local artists has been put together by Temple Villa FC for a special fundraising event this Bank Holiday weekend.
The 'virtual concert', entitled Stay-in-Tune will be broadcast online on Saturday night on the Temple Villa FC Facebook page from 9pm.
It involves performances and contributions from a huge list of international, national and local musical talent.
The concert will raise funds for Temple Villa FC and secure PPE for local nursing homes, Sonas Nursing Home and Mowlam Nursing Home, in conjunction with Heroes Aid, a new non-profit organisation helping secure PPE for frontline workers.
One of the organisers, PJ Allen, explained that the club, based in Mount Temple, had missed out on some of its main fundraising events due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Temple Villa FC has been providing football in the Moate and Mount Temple region since 1975. This season Temple Villa fielded teams in the ADSL, MSL and CCFL leagues.
The remote concert will include contributions from the likes of Leo Moran from The Sawdoctors, Jack L, Mike Hanrahan of Stockton's Wing fame and Nathan Carter, as well as local musical stars, Foster and Allen and TR Dallas.
Along with the prominent names from the world of entertainment, a number well-known figures from the football world, many with connections with Temple Villa, will also provide some musical entertainment on the night, including Dennis Clarke, and Padraig Igoe.
Others to take part include country singers John Molloy and Matt Leavy as well as Clara's Joe and Noreen Rabbette.
The event will be introduced by Niall Quinn, Chief Executive of the FAI and RTE's Midlands correspondent Ciaran Mullooly.
