Local DJ to host novel radio and online concert fundraiser

Athlone Community Radio has gathered together over 20 local musicians for a special radio/online concert fundraiser entitled 'The Show Must Go On' this Saturday.

Broadcasting on 88.4fm, the local station has been to the fore ensuring up-to-date factual information every day for their listeners and followers since the start of the pandemic. However, like other media outlets their income streams have dried up.

Not an organisation to sit around, they have came up with a novel fundraising idea 'The Show Must Go On' offering entertainment and an opportunity for people to donate to keep their local not-for-profit radio station open.

Well known local DJ Pete Casey will host this Saturday’s on-air concert with more than 20 local musicians featuring on the night from 8pm to 10pm on 88.4fm and you can watch on Facebook Live on the Athlone Community Radio Facebook page.
