Lockdown love match!
History was made on Tuesday when Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael put aside civil war divisions to agree a possible framework for government, but it also marked another major milestone for Robert Troy as he announced his engagement on social media.
The Ballinacargy native confirmed on Tuesday night that he will marry his long-term partner Aideen Ginnell.
In a message posted on Facebook and Twitter, the Longford/Westmeath TD said: "So some might say about time - but all good things are worth waiting for! During the madness of #COVID19 I am delighted to announce some joy.
"Aideen Ginnell has been with me through it all and is my very best friend and now I am delighted to say will become my wife."
The happy post ended on a humourous note, saying that the smiling picture attached was taken pre-Covid when "we used to have occasions to dress up".
