The new TDs will take their Dáil seats today
The new Dáil officially sits at 12 noon today, with newly-elected TDs taking their seats for the first time.
The 33rd Dáil will commence with the Clerk of Dáil Éireann reading out the Proclamation, received from President Michael D. Higgins, convening the 33rd Dáil.
The names of each member elected for each constituency, in the order in which they were elected, will then be read.
Longford/Westmeath will be represented by: Sorca Clarke (Sinn Fein), Joe Flaherty (Fianna Fail), Peter Burke (Fine Gael) and Robert Troy (Fianna Fail).
Roscommon/Galway will be represented by: Michael Fitzmaurice (Independent), Denis Naughten (Independent) and Claire Kerrane (Sinn Fein).
The TDs for Laois/Offaly are: Brian Stanley (Sinn Fein), Barry Cowen (Fianna Fail), Charlie Flanagan (Fine Gael), Carol Nolan (Independent) and Sean Fleming (Fianna Fail).
The next item of business is the election of Ceann Comhairle, for which there are two candidates, Denis Naughten of Roscommon-Galway and outgoing Ceann Comhairle Seán Ó Feargháil of Kildare South.
The Ceann Comhairle will be selected by secret ballot.
The sitting of the Dail will be suspended at 1.15pm and it will reconvene at 3.15pm with the identify of the new Ceann Comhairle then revealed. Nominations for Taoiseach are then expected to be made.
It's expected that Sinn Fein leader Mary Lou McDonald will be nominated for the post, with the additional support of five Solidarity-People Before Profit TDs.
Micheal Martin, Leo Varadkar and Eamon Ryan are also all expected to be nominated.
With no candidate having the necessary majority, the Dáil is then expected to be adjourned for two weeks.
